RAF escape and evasion two piece toothbrush compass.

MI9 developed the toothbrush to be sent to RAF prisoners of war, hidden amongst shaving or vanity sets.

The standard looking brown bakelite tube conveniently holds a screw-in tooth brush head. In the screw fit base, is a hidden escape compass concealed by a paxolin cover and secured by a metal ring. To gain access to the compass the tight fitting ring needs to be prised off by the use of an escape knife or an appropriate tool. Unfortunately, the compass has had its glass cover cracked at some time, but it still works. The bakelite tube and the toothbrush head are in a very good condition.
