Royal Flying Corps, pilot/observer map board.
Made by Elliott Bros, London.
Designed to be used with either a map or plain paper, the rollers on each side allowing either to be rolled in each direction for navigation or observation purposes.
The wooden map board is in very good condition and the fixed compass at the top works well. The two brass rollers are in working condition. The leather fixing strap is very good and still supple. The board has two names on the rear, which need researching (see photos).
