A rare INERT, German long fin incendiary bomb.

During WW2 these bombs were dropped by the German Luftwaffe on towns and cities. The UK saw hundreds of these magnesium fire bombs dropped each night during the blitz and bombing raids. Most exploded and burnt fiercly on impact, but some like this one, fell as a dud or were rendered harmless quickly by the civil defence or armed forces.

Here is one in a good original condition which has been opened and cleaned out (see photos). The nose cap unscrews freely and is still clearly stamped (see photos). Most of the original paint remains, which is very rare to see, and the stencilling on the fin can still be clearly seen, which has a date of 1943. There seems to be little damage, but there is some surface rust to the metal fin and some pitting to the body, check out the photos for condition. A rare item.

For SALE TO THE UK only, due to postal restrictions.
