An INERT German incendiary bomb.
During WW2 these bombs were dropped by the German Luftwaffe on towns and cities. The UK saw hundreds of these magnesium fire bombs dropped each night during the blitz. Most exploded and burnt fiercly on impact, but some like this one, fell as a dud or were rendered harmless quickly by the civil defence or armed forces.
This one is in a good condition and has been opened and cleaned out (see photos). The nose cap unscrews freely and there seems to be little damage. There are markings on the body which are a little feint. The fins look to have been repainted.
