RAF oxygen mask high altitude emergency bail-out rubber supply hose and clip. The hose has a brass Mk IV bayonet connector and clip, also an inserted metal side attachment bayonet fitting for a small diameter emergency bail out oxygen supply hose. The pilots seat type parachute pack would hold the emergency oxygen cylinder inside a special pocket fitted onto the side of the pack. The hose was primarily intended for use by high altitude photo reconnaissance unit Spitfire pilots, but it also came in for use by RAF crews operating high above safe oxygen levels.
The hose will fit oxygen mask types G and H. Air Ministry stores reference and AID markings found on various components of the hose (see photos). An unusual and rare wartime oxygen hose. In a very good 'used' condition.
