USAF H4 flying helmet, summer, intermediate.
MIL-H-7151A (AER).
Made by General Textiles Mills Inc. (Gentex). This is an unlined green cotton helmet with padded velveteen ear cushions.
It has an adjustable webbing chinstrap with a second leather strap and buckle. At the rear is an adjustable fitting strap and a further four webbing ones added in fixed places (see photos).
This type of helmet was worn with the USN H-4 bonedome (see last photo).
Size, Large - and it still retains the original stores, card swinger label.
In a very good unissued condition (has some storeage verdigris on the press studs).
