RAF, g-type oxygen mask microphone anti freeze cover. The anti freeze cover assembly type 4 was fitted to the type 26 microphone usually associated with the type g oxygen mask. It consists of a transparent insulating disc, 10A/7066, a metal gauze cover 10A/12925 and a retaining clip 10A/17025. At very low temperatures it was found that the microphone froze and interfered with it working. This simple modification helped to prevent such a problem. It is in very good 'used' condition and comes with only the microphone bakelite base for display or use.
