RAF Mk IV Goggle adaption plates

RAF Mk IV goggles adaption plates.

The set consists of four black painted brass plates, two press stud goggle loop retaining clips, and a packet of fixing rivets.

The set was used to help secure the Mk IV series of goggles in place, on the airman's leather flying helmet. Initially, intended to be used with the Mk IVa goggles, they were more often seen to be with the Mk IVb.

These plates were usually fitted to the B-type helmet but, they have also been found fitted to the later series C-type helmets.

In a very good overall condition (look to have been used).
