An 'original' WW2, RAF E* oxygen mask.
This pattern is a modified version of the E mask, which was the first all rubber oxygen mask to be produced for wartime RAF aircrew.
The mask superseded the earlier canvas D-type oxygen mask.
It is basically the same as the first pattern of E type mask, but the E* has an anti-suffocation valve on the left side, and an elastic harness strap instead of leather.
Air Ministry Ref No. 6D/624.
This example is in a very good condition, fitted with a type 28, 10A/12572 carbon microphone plus wiring loom with type 16 receivers and bell plug.
The rubber mask is still nice and supple (this is a genuine wartime issue mask) with some crazing to one edge (see photos).
It has white rubber stamp marks on the outer edge and to one side.
The inside chamois leather edging strip is still clean.
Overall the mask is In a very good 'used' condition (guaranteed to be a wartime issue).
Due to ongoing issues with European Customs, this item is NOT FOR SALE to the EU.
