RAF b type helmet face defenders

RAF, b type flying helmet face defenders.

Initially designed to protect the wearers face when flying at altitude. The b type helmet had two female press studs either side, and when flying at altitude these froze and consequently stuck to the wearers face. These defenders protected against that. They were then found useful in fixing, when sewn to the cloth d-type oxygen mask to hold it in place.

This Air Ministry pair are in a good used condition.
