RAF b type flying helmet face defenders.
This pair of defenders are unusual, as they are made of leather (probably of South African manufacture). They would clip into the newey snap fasteners, on the helmet cheeks, to prevent the wearer from getting injuries in extreme cold conditions, whilst airborne. These defenders also 'doubled up' to provide a fixing for the cloth d type oxygen mask.
In a good original 'used' condition.
NOT FOR SALE to the EU.
