RAF B-Type Leather Flying Helmet.
This classic RAF flying helmet is famous for being the type worn by fighter pilots during the Battle of Britain. It is 'as issued' without the zip ear pieces fitted, Air Ministry Ref. No. 22C/65.
Inside is a large Wareings manufacturers label, also showing that the helmet is a good size 3.
The outside chrome leather is in a very good condition.
The Bennett's buckle fastener's are complete, and the leather chin strap retains it's metal V end piece.
The inside chamois leather is complete, but with some soiling.
This helmet is in a very good 'used' condition.
