1940 dated, RAF station hand bell.
Heavy cast brass bell and clapper, with a turned wooden handle and a brass collar, which is stamped with Air Ministry & Kings Crown and on the reverse side the contract number and a 1940 date.
These bells had a variety of use, such as a 'Scramble bell', fire bells, calling men to order for briefings, and even air raids.
This example is in a very good 'used' condition with a minor ding and some blemishes, commensurate with its age.
Not for sale to the EU.
