An INERT German incendiary bomb.
During WW2 these bombs were dropped by the German Luftwaffe on towns and cities. The UK saw hundreds of these magnesium fire bombs dropped each night during the blitz. Most exploded and burnt fiercly on impact, but some like this one, fell as a dud or were rendered harmless quickly by the civil defence or armed forces.
This one has been rendered harmless by the bomb disposal squad. It has been opened and cleaned out (see photos). The nose cap unscrews freely by hand and it has excellent German markings on it, including the British bomb squad EOD (Inert) stamp around the bottom edge. The main body also has excellent original German markings and is dated 1936. This ICB was used by the RAF EOD bomb squad for training/example purposes.
Overall, the condition is excellent (see photos).
